Originally known as Schroeder-Manatee Ranch, the current day Lakewood Ranch community began its transition into a master-planned residential development back in 1994.
Today, the Lakewood Ranch community is home to over 30,000 residents at an average age of 45 (2017 data) and features top-rated schools, top golf and country clubs, thriving community centers, sports facilities, a polo club and now ranks top Florida retirement destination in the country.
